* Name: Nin-Pou: Kuchiyose no Jutsu, 口寄せの術, literally "Summoning Technique", English TV "Ninja Art: Summoning Jutsu"
* Type: C-rank, Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
* Users: Many ninja, usually above Genin rank
The basic form of all summoning techniques, this jutsu uses a contract, hand seals, and the user's blood to summon an animal from another dimension. As an alternative to the normal hand seals, the same contract that appears on the ground during the summoning can be drawn by hand and activated, producing the same result. The type of animal summoned is determined by the contract. The blood is used as a signature to make the contract, which can be written on a scroll or tattoo, valid. Once summoned, the animal can perform a task or help the user in battle.
The summon usually is subservient to the summoner; however, the more powerful summons, such as Gamabunta and Manda, demand respect and loyalty from their summoners. Manda even demands hundreds of live human sacrifices.
Here, summons are regulated by an entire species. All the summonings in the manga with the exception of Pein have been seen to summon whole species. Pein's summonings are not explained, and therefore special within themselves.
Creatures you summon cannot me mythological as a start. However, you can have our creature have ties to Oriental Mythology. This means, if you summon foxes, you can tie them to Inari, etc.
Summons are not all huge god thingies. Not even summon creature has a boss either. In addition, when you say you summon a species, you summon that species, and all sub-species that are grouped with it.
