Noshiyagi Kazan
BOOK ONE 1: ATTACK~! Hikawá Gai Mayonaka: Midnight
Smoke pillars rose into the air, the scent of blood and soot dirtied the air. The once proud monuments and tall structures were now put down, collapsed onto the themselves. The sheer heat that licked against all that inhabited the area was immense. It felt as if one were in a furnace. Two forced were in a lock. One side was an imperial capital of Hi no Kuni. The other a "lowly" compound, as the government called it. However, this compound was proving itself to be a problem, to say the least. At the back of the vast army of men donning blank metal plates was a rather aged man. His forehead and left eye were covered by bandages, his chin scarred in the shape of a cross. He leaned over his bokken, using it as a cane. As his side was a taller man, his hands wrapped around a large staff based on his shoulders. A devilish smirk was plastered to his face as he stared out to the damage that the men under him had caused.
"This is excellent... beautiful even." the younger and taller man said to his elder.
The elder man stared up at him, smirking as well. "I suppose someone like you would call it something like that. I call it glorious. The expansion of the Minamí Hoshi. Soon enough, our influence will spread to the storms of the east, the mountains of the north, and even the deserts of the west."
The taller man nodded, using one of his hanging hands to run over his chin. Chaotic thoughts jogged through his mind, beckoning for him to go forth and join the assault. His smirk begot a large smile, his thoughts surfacing onto his face.
"Go ahead." the older man said without needing to hear what the younger man needed to say. "You would be an asset in a battle like this, Kazan."
"Thank you, Noshiyagi-sensei."
Kazan channeled chakra to his feet, dipping his knees, pressing against the floor. By this time, he'd removed his staff from being atop his shoulders, and held it firmly in his left hand. He took in a deep sigh before rapidly straightening his legs, and jumped forward. Wind smashed against his face, his body cutting through the air with moderate resistance. He jumped over a quantity of buildings before he began to descend. Below, a bloody battle between Hi no Kuni's soldiers, and mercenary clans fought against his own soldiers. Raising his staff above his head, he slammed it down onto one of the foreign ninja.
He landed low to the ground, his front leg almost completely on the ground. The staff rested firmly in his hand as he stared forward onto the man that he had just forced into the ground. He stood quickly, dodging a large amount of shinobi who charged onto him. Flipping backward, a force of shinobi pulsed forward, fending off the shinobi aligned with Hi no Kuni.
The real battle had begun.

Kazan smirked. They were retreating. His brown hair swayed in the fiery breeze, his body standing amongst a sea of death. He glimpsed over his shoulder, looking up on his master as he neared him. The man's bandages were spattered with blood. No doubt, the man himself was fighting. Around him, a fair amount of soldiers stood, their weapons bore. Kazan chortled, knowing Noshiyagi needed no such protection. He turned on his heels, walking toward the man.
Kazan took a knee, slamming his hand into his palm and presenting them in front of his bowed head. Noshiyagi shrugged, lashing his hand out to the side of his own face. The gesture alone was powerful, informing the soldiers to clear out. He beamed down onto Kazan, his strict face unmoving. He knelt down in front of Kazan, using his cane to keep his knees from the ground.
"Your servant kneels before the soon-to-be emperor." Kazan called out, his voice firm, almost like he was certain these events would come to pass.
"Rise, my child." Noshiyagi instructed, placing his chin into his palm. His fingers played with his deep scar, almost like it was new to them. He smirked at Kazan. He was obviously proud. Kazan was proving to be a valuable general. Even a better weapon. Obviously sending him to the frontier was no error. "You did well tonight, Kazan-kun."
"Your servant--"
"Gah." Noshiyagi scoffed, his eyes bearing a look of mild disgust. "Since when were you a servant, Kazan? I think of you as a son."
"Your son thanks you, Noshiyagi-sensei."
Noshiyagi chortled, holding his stomach as he started past Kazan. Victory over Hi no Kuni was drawing near. Soon, he would rule the Four Stars, and rule the entire world. This was his goal. Taking over the southern peninsula of Hi no Kuni was just the beginning. He walked with Kazan toward the limits of the town. As he walked along the blood-strewn path, he smirked. He came upon a forest. The shinobi who'd survived from Hi no Kuni fled through it. It would serve him as a boundary. Hi no Kuni would end there. Minamí Hoshi was anything south of that forest.
"Did you have the men lay the scrolls from coast to coast?" Noshiyagi asked, reaching into his back pouch and pulling out a scroll.
"Indeed, Noshiyagi-sensei, I did."
"Perfect." Noshiyagi began. "Then they already did the preparations for this seal?"
"Indeed, master."
Noshiyagi dropped his cane, dropping onto his knees. He unrolled the scroll, revealing dozens of seals and kanji woven into a large circle. In the middle was the word "SHŌGAI". The tattered old man raised his thumb up to his mouth, biting into it. He threw his finger down, drawing a line from end to end in his blood. He raised them up to his chest, forming a long string of In. Behind him, Kazan stood stiffened by curiosity.
"Kuchiyose: Kinmon-!!!"
Noshiyagi slammed his hand down onto the scroll, causing the kanji and symbols to glow bright yellow. From his hand, yellow seals shot outward toward the east and west. The activation of the Fūinjutsu would meet with the other scrolls set up onto the coast. From the three scrolls, a large gate of solid gold with erect itself. Only a single entrance existed. These two grand doors stood in front of Noshiyagi. On the left door was a depiction of Izanagi wielding his legendary spear: Amenonuhoko. On the right door was Izanami. They stood upon water, and Izanagi was depicted as stirring it. It represented the birth of a new way of life. The new island was Minamí Hoshi. Along the wall were depictions of battles, and heroes.
"It... it's beautiful, Noshiyagi-sensei."
"Minamí Hoshi is now officially our home, my son."
