Genre-Based Questions
What is Naruto?
Naruto is a Shōnen manga. Shōnen literally means teenager. Shōnen manga typically feature male heroes who fight for a greater good. Naruto is the hero of the Shōnen manga, Naruto. Naruto is based in a fictitious world where ninja reside in various villages. Ninja start from the Ninja Academy, and aspire to become shinobi of legend, etc. For more information, please visit OneManga, or NarutoPedia.
Why are there no villages on this board?
This forum is based before the founding of the Hidden Villages. Based on what chapter 399 says, the Hidden Villages were formed after Senju Hashirama established Konohagakure. Therefore, this forum will be based about two centuries before the birth of Senju Hashirama, and Uchiha Madara. Instead of roleplaying in villages, you shall be allowed to RP with clans, or go solo.
Why are there no canons?
As I stated above, this RP takes place before the birth of Hashirama and Madara. Those in addition to Kakuzu being the oldest people in Naruto, no canon characters would be alive in this time. Even so, they wouldn't be allowed to be used, in fear that they would be improperly portrayed.
Will there be wars on this board?
Wars are indeed possible. The countries hire shinobi to carry out their deeds. It is indeed possible that a platoon of shinobi will stumble into an enemy country, and be attacked. Like dominoes, a series of events will occur that would spark a war. Countries use their own soldiers in wars, in addition to hiring shinobi. Wars are difficult to make ordered, but here, we set out a set of rules to help the administration judge wars. Wars are not all out. Instead, they are separate battles, as seen in the Kakashi Gaiden Arc.
Can I be Akatsuki?
No, Akatsuki doesn't exist at this point.
Can I be a Jinchuriki?
For the time being, the answer is no. However, as the board progresses and activity raises, Biju may be incorporated into the site plot. Therefore, Jinchuriki would become an integral part as well.
Roleplaying-Based Questions
What is godmodding and metagaming?
Metagaming and godmodding are what we call mods. They allow their users ultimate power, always based outside their actual ability to roleplay. They are not tolerated on this board, and those who are guilty of modding are instantly killed. Godmodding is exactly as it sounds. Making one's self God. When one godmods, they attempt and action, and in the same post, they say that their attempt hits their opponent. This doesn't give one an ability to defend themselves against the said attempt, and thus why Godmodding is outlawed on just about all roleplaying forums.
Metagaming is a character's ability to know things for no good reason, never being informed, or figuring the conundrum out with no proper reason. One who metagames knows what your character is thinking automatically. He knows just about everything there is to know. This can be used in and out of battle, and is outlawed for simply being an annoying violation, and a kill-joy.
If you notice what you think is modding, don't hesitate to report said post to the administration.
How do I receive missions?
You are hired for missions by a country in this time. Countries put up bills requesting shinobi. After accepting a mission, meet with the country representative or leader to be briefed on the mission. From there, you carry the mission out. Being part of a clan helps with getting missions. This is because clans hold up better reputations than individual shinobi. Also, they have larger numbers, and are capable of more. Missions are posted in the Country Capitals. Also, you can PM a staff member with a mission proposal. If we give the thumbs up, we will RP country reps., and send you on your way.
Character-Based Questions
Where is my character?
Your character goes in the Character Applications board. If you post an unfinished profile in the general area, it will be moved to the Unfinished section by a staff member. If the staff sees nothing wrong with your profile, and you can't find it, it is most likely been placed in the Approved Profiles section. If you made an NPC, it would be placed in the NPC section.
An admin posted in my character application. What do I do?
The administration post in the character applications to point out flaws. When they tell you what is wrong with your profile, you simply go into the profile and rectify the issue. If they continue posting, you continue modifying until your profile is approved. All ruling posts will be deleted upon approval.
Why are some profiles different than mine?
Some people reformat their profiles. This is perfectly fine. Reformatting can use blockquotes, size differences, etc. Feel free to reformat your profile as long as you keep the information from the base template in your application. But please, don't use colors that would burn someone's eyes out, or bold everything and use unneeded spacing, etc. It is preferable that your profile be easy to read.
