Eyes Brown Height 176.9 cm Weight 61.2 kg Apparel Coming from a clan thats known for its artistic ways, you'd expect Tarō to be wearing flashy colours or something unusual. However, when it comes to clothes Tarō tends to keep it simple. In fact, the only speckle of oddity you do spot is the mask that firmly clasps his head. Covering most of Tarō's face, the mask itself has a very earthy appearance. Another item he is always seen with is his kasa. Despite being with him since birth, the straw hat is in perfect condition. Moving on to more common forms of attire, Tarō alternates between two outfits. For casual occasions he wears a fern green kimono and hakama. The second creates the appearance of a ninja for Tarō. Beneath a thick tan obi and black top is fishnet that extends to his upper arms. Standard charcoal coloured shinobi sandals accompany his dark pants. The dark colours allow for a stealthy situations.

Mental Evaluation SPIRIT | optimistic To say Tarō was a vivid character would be an understatement. Much like the spirit he portrays, Tarō is full of excitement and joy. He always looks on the bright side of situations and rarely is seen worried. The optimistic attitude can bring smiles or hatred for the boy. Like a child, he doesn't mind to say whatever is on his mind despite being rude. Sometimes, his brightness can come at the wrong times and thus causes a missing link in the chain of relationships. Despite this carefree attitude, in battle Tarō has shown several times that he in control of two minds. One playful, the other strategic.
UNMASKED | dark When physically unmasked, Tarō has a youthful face. Perfect skin, a smooth jawline, and deep eyes give off a feminine and caring aura. Personality-wise however, behind the playfulness is a charred soul. Hatred built up from his father's rejective ways. And for the rest of his clan whom held far superior artistic skills. For those who believe art or spiritual ways are merely a joke. Beneath it all Tarō thirsts to punish and prove everyone wrong. Instability.
Background Analysis ORIGINS | clan Like any clan, the Gasai started out with just a couple of people with something in common. However this group of people didn't have a curse, a kekkei genkai, or and nifty ninja stuff. Instead, they shared a profession and interest. Just a couple dozen at least, some inexperienced while others were masters. From sculptures to painters, the Gasai clan consisted of artists who were all interested in the supernatural. Although they never created their own religion, the group worked in a very religious way. They had great respect for those above them (and below them for the underworld creatures) and their goal was to show the world. Thus formed the Gasai clan, naming themselves exactly what they had - artistic talent.
They were nomadic and as time passed they became a very well known clan. Their drawings, sculptures, and literal pieces crossed the entire shinobi continent as they traveled. The clan searched the deepest and darkest corners to find the spirits they would capture through art. Many had lost limbs for the precious moment of seeing what mortals were forbidden to see. Others lost lives.
Those who walk the land today and still know of the Gasai clan say that they aided in the creation of ninjutsu. Without knowing what spirits were capable of, how would humans have a concept to honing or gaining their own abilities? However, this contribution to ninjutsu would be their downfall as well. When war broke out, what artwork that was praised from the Gasai was blown away just as the small villages were. In the path of war, nothing and no one was safe. As the homeless grew weak so did the Gasai clan. Their nomadic ways were only supported by the constant flow of income through their artwork. Rapidly their numbers dropped. Famine struck. Then bandits. There was little that could be done. Even praying to the gods was no use. Until a man by the name of Tsunetomo came forth with an idea. He was one of the lower ranked members of the clan. Nothing more than an apprentice and even before the war, his art was unrecognized. The idea was for a new branch in the Gasai clan. The branch would not consists of artists, but warriors.
Scavenging the weapons from old battle sites, a portion of the clan dressed themselves as shinobi. The only thing that differentiated them from normal shinobi were their masks. Keeping their traditional worship in mind, the branch created masks that imitated certain spirits. They were led by none other than Tsunetomo himself. Fortunately, the plan worked out exceptionally. Food was easier to come by without the bandits being a threat.
JOURNEY | homeland At last the clan had prospered once again. However, there was another problem they would have to face. At the turn of a decade, their art was quite literally out of the picture. Spirits were a thing of the past. Like a new clothing line, the Gasai only had booming success in their early years. People saw the clans existence had been long and stretched out. They weren't overwhelmingly skilled shinobi and their artwork was practically forgotten. What place or significance did they have other than being normal people? Understanding they had accomplished their goal of bringing knowledge to the world the clan decided to retreat to their homeland. The place where the artistic and abstract minded group of people first gathered. Tsuchi no Kuni.
During this time, Tarō was born. He was different from the others in his clan. Not just because he was the first baldy to sprout out from the artistic breed, but because of his descent. His grandfather was son of the Tsunetomo who created the military branch of the clan. A fearsome yet elderly warrior that didn't even seem to descend from the average Gasai. His father was one of the greater artists of the artistic branch and hoped to care for Tarō closely since his mother had died during labor. A conflict arose as the two men tried to take control and decide what was best for the young Gasai. It was a simple question. Would the boy grow up to be a shinobi or artist? What overruled both the men were the village elders. (How they're older and more superior than Tsunetomo is still a mystery.) Tarō would grow to be a hybrid of the clan. Both artist and shinobi. The two would take turns teaching Tarō. And with a bit of luck, he would become one of the greatest of both branches.
Unfortunately when you shove two very different arts into a young child's brain, he's bound to choose one over the other. For Tarō, the life of a shinobi was much more exciting and appealing for the adolescent. Time after time he neglected his fathers wishes and strolled off to train with his grandfather. Although the old geezer was a stern teacher, the sound of metal clashing was much better than the stroke of a paintbrush. The boy was naive and uncaring for what his clan had descended from. His father would soon disown the boy, leaving him to his grandfather.
Finally came the day when the Gasai clan had reached Tsuchi no Kuni. They traveled slow, savoring their last moments on the land they'd never see again. When they reached the towering mountains of the country, they climbed. Finally when the clan reached the top, they were surrounded by clouds. The place seemed only meant for gods but the Gasai felt right at home. They were finally secluded from the world and so they made refuge at the very top of the mountains where they could appreciate their art and the spirits alone.
The use of having a second branch to defend themselves was lost. With the discovery of their homeland everyone was relieved to not ever having to lose lives again - except for two. Tsunetomo and Tarō were now two of the most powerful shinobi of the clan. Not willing to recognize the extinction of a Gasai shinobi, the two left the clan.
GROWTH | now Becoming exiles helped Tarō grow up a lot. Since he was already adapted to traveling, he didn't mind meeting new faces. The rest of the world had a great impact on the naive boy. Tarō grew to respect what his clan had done and their art. Eventually, he became what the Gasai elders always wanted - a hybrid. Skillful in both art and battle, Tarō made himself a very unique shinobi. Although he's still learning under the strong eyes of Tsunetomo, Tarō holds much potential.

Inventory GASAI MASK | oowarai When the Gasai clan developed a shinobi branch, they adopted masks to entwine their spiritual art into their combat. While the masks themselves seem to be very frail and made of dirt, the earthy material is truly capable of blocking the strongest of metals. The mask itself acts as a frontal helmet if anything. Each of the Gasai masks have their own unique designs that impersonate that of a spirit. Some more recognizable than others. Tarō's mask represents Oowarai, one of the more insignificant demons of the world. The spirit has a lanky figure, an uninterested face, and cynical laugh. A role that fits quite nicely with Tarō's happy-go-lucky personality.
PAINTS & BRUSHES | artwork What Tarō always on hand or summoned through scrolls are his art tools. The items are used in both art and combat. These range from brushes, paint and canvases to sculpting clay, pencils, and paper. All the materials are handmade and natural, giving the paint a distinct smell. It should be noted that the paint is highly flammable.
SHINOBI EQUIPMENT | basic Basic shinobi equipment with all the essentials for combat. Kunai, throwing knives that are one of the most common weapons in a ninjas arsenal. Other basic weapons include shuriken, explosion notes, and scrolls for summoning.
