What is a story arc? It's simple. A story arc is exactly what it sounds like. A story. Granted, it is more official than any other story that takes place on the boards. See, characters can make their own arcs. That's all good and gravy. In essence, they do the same things as Integral Arcs.
What is an integral arc? An integral arc is a story arc that not only affects a few members of the board. Like the name suggests, the changes brought about in an integral arc not only change a group of people, but it affects the board. It is an integral part of the board's history as a whole. Integral arcs affect the whole board because unlike normal story arcs, they can be used by everyone. Anyone can join a thread that is spouted by an Integral arc as long as their participation makes sense. You don't have to register, for when you play a large, or small role, you are recorded into the PCs taking part in that IA.
Normal arcs consist only of PCs, with NPCs coming in occasionally. However, IAs consist of both PCs and NPCs in unison. NPCs are there to further the story smoothly, and PCs to progress as well with a more hands on approach. There are some site wide IAs, which you don't exactly have to be involved in, but will progress the site as a whole, occasionally leading to timeskips, etc.
If you wish to suggest an IA, please, don't hesitate to PM a member of the staff. We will discuss your idea in depth, and possibly publish it.
